Apartment in Genoa
Project by Cristina Colla Atelier
“The apartment is located in a building designed in the 50s by architect Morozzo della Rocca, with a very large balcony doors that give a good idea of the architecture of those years and double the main floor height allowed to obtain a loft for the guests.
The stainless steel railing overlooks the living area. A stained glass window separates the kitchen where a sliding table, made on drawing, allows you to expand the work table.
The dining room table is a piece designed by Atelier and built by our craftsmen.
The interior recovers the charm of time with the family’s ancient pieces and the great ancient and contemporary paintings make up the frame.
The house expresses the great personality of the owners, and that’s why I think it is a very successful project.
The privileged site overlooks the gardens of the Prince’s Palace and the big terrace make it a bright and at the same time intimate space, also suitable to receive guests.
I love the rigor and austere regularity of the houses of that period, tempered by soft lines and the family warmth.
Furniture by Flexform, Gervasoni, Emmebi and custom made furniture.”
The furniture is provided by Colla Arredi.
Brightness
Many of the design choices related to this apartment were dictated by light. The “house of houses” is a very bright space, which has dictated its rules. The play of shadows, the openness towards the outside and the clear and warm atmosphere of the Genoese panorama determined the client’s choices and consequently ours as well.
Personality
This house perfectly reflects that of the owners who live here. It is a space in continuous evolution, a mobile, lively and curious environment. In its smallest details you can catch the traits of its personality, strong and linear. The “house of houses” is born from the ability of the environment to adapt and transform with the seasons, this also thanks to the design choices that have been able to combine functionality and style.
